How long does it take for risperdal to treat psychosis?

Varies: Some symptoms can be treated with very few doses. In other cases, it can take a couple of weeks, including the time it takes to go up on the dose to an effective level without running a higher risk of adverse reactions. It depends: Risperdal is very effective as an antipsychotic. It may take several weeks along with careful monitoring and titration of the dose. I have seen people get better in a few days with a low dose and I have seen some requiring a higher dose over an extended period of time.
