STD: I usually do not retest patients after a full course of antibiotics. It is also important that your partner was treatedat the same time therefore decreasing the chance of reinfection. If your symptons are all resolved return to your doctor.

Infection/antibiotic: Chlamydia is a serious organism, and in particular can cause fertility problems in women. Get tested 48 hours after finishing doxycycline, and prior to intercourse with your partner (who should also have been treated) to make sure the treament was successful. If you have other partners it is clearly important to make certain the chlamydia is gone.
