Floss, brush, rinse.: Perhaps your general practitioner could help you. If it is gingivitis, flossing and using a plaque-fighting rinse might help also. Hydrogen peroxide one half strength swish and spit might also help.

Gum swelling: is caused by a variety of reasons. Some common causes include: gingivitis, tooth abscess, malnutrition or systemic disorders. To reduce gum swelling, keep good oral hygiene, rinse with a warm saltwater solution, drink plenty of water and take NSAID OTC for pain and inflammation control. Remember, the only way to treat exactly what is causing the swelling is visiting your dentist.

Gum swelling : First and most importantly see if you can change your plans and/ or get an earlier appointment. Not much you can do in the meantime other than brushing and flossing after meals and snacks and rinsing with a teaspoon of salt in warm water 3-4 times a day until then.

Swelling gums: Swelling gums indicate an infection. If this is localized around one tooth you may have something stuck under your gums and once it is removed you will be better. If it is the whole mouth there is a different kind of infection. Brush, floss, rinse with warm salt water, see if you can see the dentist sooner.
