No (and yes): Both are antidepressants. But Remeron (mirtazapine) is a Tetracyclic antidepressant & Trazodone is a serotonin antagonist and reuptake inhibitor (SARI) class.

More or less: Remeron (mirtazapine) and Trazodone are called Atypical Antidepressants. There are a few others too, but these are fairly alike. They affect both norepinephrine and serotonin (which is why they are sometimes called serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors, or SNRIs). Their side effects are different than SSRI's but can be quite bad too. Ask, ask, ask before taking them about long term issues.
