I have insomnia - both trouble falling asleep and staying asleep. i've tried cbt, and i've tried trazodone, remeron, (mirtazapine) diphenhydramine and seroquil. none have been romotely effective. is there a drug that might actually help?

Some patients: respond well to herbal remedies auch as Valerian root, Passion flower and Magnesium. Try over the counter melatonin as well.

Other options: other options that may work include Zolpidem=Ambien, Temazepam=Restoril, Lunesta, (eszopiclone) and Belsomra which is the newest sleep aid and may help if one has a racing mind. I would have to see a physician in person to get a Rx. Other things to consider are no alcohol at night, exercising in the morning instead of afternoon, not eating before bed, reading in bed instead of watching TV, and hypnosis even.
