A member asked:

I thnk i got a mental panic attack. i kept talking to myself in my mind without actually trying. i got scared & i couldn't even talk for a second. why?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Talking to self: A full evaluation needs to be done by a mental health professional to specifically address your symptoms . Talking to oneself could range from people experiencing " voices in their head" ( auditory hallucinations ) to racing thoughts in bipolar disorder ; certain anxiety disorders like panic disorder can cause similar symptoms as well. However, you should consult a professional immediately.
