New cream: You will need an antifungal cream to treat ringworm on the skin. Lotrimin, micatin, (miconazole) etc. Anything for athlete's foot will usually work.

Can try..: You can try a topical cream like clortrimazole 1% twice a day for a few weeks, or you can try an oral pill like fluconazole 200mg weekly for 3 weeks. Either of those should clear it up if it truly is ringworm.

Need an anti-fungal: cream (Lotrimin) if it is ringworm, not a cortisone cream. If not improving see your doctor.
