Get it checked: the swollen, atraumatic knee can be difficult to diagnose without seeing it. on an emergency room visit, your doctor needs to assess you for fevers, incrsd WBC count, knee xray and and some cases drain fluid from the knee to confirm it is not a septic joint. And then sometimes, without any concerning exam findings, we will just wrap in an ace bandage and ice it. Can't bare weight is no good
