Invisalign?: If the Invisalign is being used got correct poor positioning of the teeth then the correction of the position will allow for less food particles being caught in mouth between teeth after eating and better oral hygeine with brushing. This will result in less periodontal disease. Swish with antibacterial mouth wash 3 times a day thanks

Invisalign and Perio: No orthodontic treatment (Invisalign is orthodontic treatment) can prevent periodontal disease. It can, however, create tooth alignment that is easier to keep clean (as compared to crowded and overlapped teeth). Proper and thorough tooth brushing and flossing, a healthy diet, and regular dental care can prevent periodontal disease. If you have perio disease, see a Periodontist for treatment.

Absolutely!: When teeth are aligned or straighten, they are in a more centered position in the jaw bone and will be better able to resist the bone loss during active gum disease. This and other more valid factors makes Invisalign and other clear aligner therapy a more modern state of the art method choice over the old fashion metal braces.

Maybe: The aligners are easy to remove, so you can brush and floss as you normally do. This will help keep your gums healthy. Also, moving your teeth into a straighter position can often improve the gums and the supporting bone around the teeth.

Yes and no: Orthodontically positioning teeth properly over good alveolar AND basal bone support makes cleaning easier, provides better bone support, and harmonizes the forces placed on the teeth when functioning. If treatment excessively expands the dental arches, harm can be done to the supporting structures. Know that clear aligners are NOT as effective as braces in creating optimum root position.

No gaps: Closing gaps between teeth can help reduce food particles caught in mouth between teeth after eating and allow for better oral hygeine with brushing.
