Is a spider bite?: It may not have been a spider bite. There have been many cases of skin infections caused by Methicillin Resistant Staph Aureus (MRSA) . The lesion is typically described as a spider bite. What happens is this organism penetrates the skin via hair follicle and makes its way into the body. It can evade the immune system, but it can also attack with vigor. Get a blood test!
