You may have: a viral infection that may actually be infectious mononucleosis, or bacterial pharyngitis such as strep throat. Whatever medicines you take for these symptoms may also be responsible for making your brain feel that way. Most viral infections will finish its course in 3-7 days by itself, and bacterial infections will require antibiotics to treat. Thanks for trusting in HealthTap.

A 18-year-old member asked:
What medicine may I take if i'm pregnant for the symptoms of sore throat fever and aches?

Acetaminophen: Not many medicines are studied well in pregnancy, the one that is certainly found to be safe is Acetaminophen (tylenol). Taking 2 tabs of extra strength (500mg) every 6 hrs is safe. Although most sore throat is viral sometime it is strep and needs antibiotics which are safe. You may use other conservative measures as warm salt water gargles for 2 days but if not better get it checked out.

I've had pink eye for about 2 and half weeks. Went to doc doctor last week, took tobramycin, now still have a red eye. What to do?

Go back to doctor: You need to be re evaluated for persistant pink eye, it may be something more than just infection. It could be an inflammation due to allegy, or underlying iritis, you may need to see an opthalmologist if your doctor feels you should.

My brother has a pe and a mass on lung with thyroid nodules. Never smoked. He is hospital 5 days INR still 1.1. Cat scan says possiable cancer. How will we know for sure ?

Biopsy when stable: The current studies suggest that there may be a cancer. The source could be the lung or thyroid. This could also be benign, but with the pe it will need further workup.
After the pe is stabilized a biopsy is the only way to know.
