I had a stress fracture in my foot in january. months of swelling and pain. i now feel a lump on the side of foot where i had the stress fracture.

The healing: response of the bone to a fracture results in increased bone formation(callus) around the fracture, which can become quite prominent, particularly if there is some motion at the fracture site and the healing is incomplete. This may be what you are feeling. See your doc for an evaluation, you may need an xray to check it out.

See below. : Could be the healing fracture with callous (new bone) formation. To be sure see your orthopedist, who, if it deemed necessary may repeat an x-ray.
