Good eating habits: Include 1/4 as protein, 1/4 as carbohydrates, 1/4 as fruits, and 1/4 of the plate as vegetables. Eat. from each of the food groups, include whole grains, legumes, beans, chicken, meat, fish, dairy, eggs, etc. Try to stay away from fried foods, fatty foods, Try to avoid sugar drinks, and highly processed foods as they are lower in nutrients than fresh fruits and vegetables. USE PORTION CONTROL.

Be realistic: She knows she's got a problem & the only way she can begin to deal with it is if you validate it as real. Kids learn from adversity more than from pampering. Have her doc check her out. Get a referral to a clinical nutritionist & join her in learning portion control & balanced nutrition. Get the family involved in healthy physical activities. It's a family issue, not just her.
