Too much is bad: Just assume too much of anything - even healthy things - is bad for you! Cinnamon contains coumarin, which can damage the liver if large quantities are ingested. Ceylon cinnamon has less coumarin than the cheaper and more commonly used cassia cinnamon. Cinnamon does have health benefits and has been shown to lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels in diabetic patients
