A member asked:

Does a large yolk sac mean a higher risk of miscarriage? us today, only 5 weeks 4 days, doc said a little early to see hb. said large sac could be bad

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Good doctor: Sounds like you have a good doctor. I figure he/she will repeat the ultrasound in two weeks. By that time you will see a heart beat. Around 12 to 14 weeks your doctor will send you for first screening, an ultrasound and fingerprick test. This is a screening test for chromosomal abnormalities, which can be associated with an abnormally large yolk sac.
