I am assuming : You are a minor and not 44 years old. The laws vary a bit from state to state. A psychologist working with minors will speak w' your parents but will keep most things confidential unless you are a danger to yourself or others then they are mandated to get you help. If you are not at risk they will discuss how they feel you are doing in general terms (they won't tell them what you say about them.

How old...: ...are you? Privacy laws vary by state, and may be different for minors. In general, privacy laws for psychiatrists follow that for other physicians...the physician is allowed to break confidentiality only if a patient is an immediate danger to himself or someone else, or if the patient cannot feed/clothe/house himself. If you have a legal guardian laws may vary.

Age depending : If you are a minor, which typically means less than 18 years old and your parents want to see the psychologist records, by law they can. However if you are 18 years or older, and not a minor, then your parents have no right to see the records. This is called confidentiality, in accordance with HIPAA laws.
