What do you suggest if my son won't drink out of a straw?

Keep practicing: how old is your son? some children take to drinking from a straw easier than others. There are also many different varieties of cups with built in straws that can be tried. Some are easier to pull. Try several different styles and keep practicing.
You can also pull water into a straw with your finger closing off one end and hold the straw in son's mouth so he can practice how to pull water out.
