Why?: What are you doing that has caused you to hurt your ankle 20 times? Do you have risky behavior? It occurs to me that that might be the bigger issue here. Of course, I do not have the benefit of getting to meet you and hear your full history. If any of this reasonates with you, consider seeing a therapist.

See a specialist: The examination of the ankle will be important in determining whether the ankle has laxity. If needed an MRI may be ordered if a partial or equivocal findings are suspected and possibly for preoperative planning.
