Sounds like you : Should be evaluated properly before things get worse. Since you odont mention which side of the ankle, medial or lateral all we know is there is ankle swelling which could be caused by a multitude of problems. You should visit a podiatrist or orthopedist for further exam and treatment.

See a podiatrist: If it is painful to bear weight on and is still swollen you need to have your left ankle and foot looked at. X-rays, or other studies might be necessary to see if you have a stress fracture, arthritis, or other issue going on.
