Heel pain : You may have plantar fasciitis which is an inflammation of the bottom of the foot . You may feel flat footed because hand arch has fallen. Pain is generally worse when you first wake up. Stretch your heel by pushing against a wall with the front knee bent and back leg out straight. Hold for 10 seconds. Take Advil (ibuprofen) with food as needed.

FLAT FEET: It sounds like you are indeed flatfooted, with what's called plantar fasciitis. You need a work-up with x-rays; the podiatrist will decide the best treatment after that. Regards, Dr. Latva

Possibly: Many patients with heel pain have low arches, however just because a patient has a decreased arch doesn't mean they necessarily will get heel pain. Most important is to get an exam for proper diagnosis and treatment for you. There are many excellent natural treatments I suggest for patients with plantar fasciitis/heel pain. Best wishes!
