sprained ankle 2days back.. it was painfull and swollen but was able to walk.. took painkillers for a day.. pain vanished in a day but have swelling?

Ankle sprain: Since there is persistent swelling there may be some ligament damage. Don't resume normal activities yet; elevate the leg as much as you can;apply cold and use an ACE type wrapping. If you can take them,NSAIDS like ibuprofen also help.

Time Heals: The swelling may take a few weeks to resolve. Meanwhile, consider wearing an elastic wrap to help support the joint. Should be ok..
