Should heal quickly.: On the proper antiacid medication, your gastritis and ulcer should heal within the next 2 weeks. Your doctor might wish to confirm healing with a repeat upper endoscopy. If healing is not complete, it would prompt your doctor to check your blood for unusual causes of ulcers; gastroenterologists are trained to pursue this.

H pylori?: Did your doctor do an h pylori test? If not, i recommend you ask for one. Take your medications and avoid alcohol and any foods your doctor told you to avoid. Manage your stress level.

Gastritis: You need to continue taking Dexilant (dexlansoprazole) for 6- 8 weeks . If you still have symptoms then you need to see your gastroenterologist . Most importantly take medication as advised. Avoid medications that can cause increase acidity like NSAIDs (ibuprofen ) etc.
