Other causes..: Airway restriction is not always heard with a steth.. You may have asthma.. You indicate that you have GERD, and Hx of cardiac catheterization. Stomach acid from gerd can cause inflammation of the airways, and compromised cardiac function is always a concern. Sounds like you need a thorough exam and work up..

Further work up: Since you are being treated for GERD, aspiration of stomach acid into the lungs causing intermittent bronchoconstriction is another possibility. If you are overweight, this may lead to a number of conditions which can present as shortness of breath.
