Virtually non: It is a painless radiologic technique that uses no radiation and provides great accuracy in visualizing structures. Patients who have any metallic materials, artificial joints, pacemakers, insulin pumps, bullet fragments, etc. cannot be scanned because the magnet may cause those items to move.
