When having a emg do they only test your arm or do they also test your neck? i have numbness in the neck and arm? i also have tingling . please help

Whatever doc orders: Typically your referring doc will specify what limb is involved and ask that be tested. However, sometimes the EMG docs will determine the best sampling of muscles and limbs depending on the story sent to them by the referring doc and what they're looking for. I would say that in your case a root search in your neck would be reasonable to do if you have symptoms there as well.

Depends: Commonly do not do EMG of neck because patients tolerate it poorly and because difficult to know which root is being tested in a given location (overlapping areas).
