Localized: This sounds like a pinched nerve in the foot itself rather than a serious neurological problem. However if numbness extends into a wider area of the foot or if weakness of the foot or leg develop, an examination by your physician or a neurologist would be recommended.

?tarsal tunnel?: Toe numbness could be associated with early signs of peripheral neuropathy such as diabetes or vitamin deficiencies, but could be due to nerve compression at the ankle, called tarsal tunnel syndrome. Sometimes, transient nerve compression, such as prolonged leg crossing may cause tingling which reverses. Decline in blood flow, in older folks could also be a culprit. Perhaps an exam could reassur.

2 things: The top tip and side of big toe get numb from pressure on the nerve at the MPJ (Bunion). Legs getting heavy is unrelated, not sure why this occurred, if happens again see your MD
