A 22-year-old male asked:
one of my toes has been numb for almost a week now, getting concerned?

Localized: This sounds like a pinched nerve in the foot itself rather than a serious neurological problem. However if numbness extends into a wider area of the foot or if weakness of the foot or leg develop, an examination by your physician or a neurologist would be recommended.

Can be neuropathy: This can be a sign of diabetic neuropathy - you should see your doctor and discuss - the best treatment and prevention is good control of your diabetes and protecting your feet from harm. Always wear shoes and look for any sign of injury to your toes or infection.

?tarsal tunnel?: Toe numbness could be associated with early signs of peripheral neuropathy such as diabetes or vitamin deficiencies, but could be due to nerve compression at the ankle, called tarsal tunnel syndrome. Sometimes, transient nerve compression, such as prolonged leg crossing may cause tingling which reverses. Decline in blood flow, in older folks could also be a culprit. Perhaps an exam could reassur.

Etnter an answer sum: After waking the muscles are often tight, and blood flow decreases. Stretch before getting out of bed, and massage your feet to stimulate increased blood supply.

2 things: The top tip and side of big toe get numb from pressure on the nerve at the MPJ (Bunion).
Legs getting heavy is unrelated, not sure why this occurred, if happens again see your MD
