Rest: You did not say if swelling or a bruise but in general since you cannot pad with shoes then when you can elevate the foot and apply ice to the area. You should keep the ice (or frozen pea bag) using a towel or cloth between your skin and the ice, for about 15 min every 2-3 hours. You should start to get better by the third day. If the pain gets worse you need to be checked.
