I have prostatitis. i am taking an antibiotic course. i wanna know how will antibiotics kill bacteria if they hide in prostate tissue?

Prostatitis: Great question. There are only a few antibiotics with excellent prostatic penetrance. Trimethoprim-sulfa is one, metronidazole, clindamycin and fluorinated quinolones are among the best options.

Prostatitis Rx: Keep in mind that 90% of prostatitis isn't caused by bacterial infection, hence antibiotics may not work although they are commonly prescribed. Sitz baths and anti-inflammatory drugs can help in such instances.
