It is possible : While I'm not certain this is actually the case for you, there is a phenomenon known as referred pain. In this process, pain from the actual area of "injury"/inflammation appears somewhere else; like how "heart attack" pain can present solely in the left arm! The mechanism is quite clear but it is something always to be on the lookout. Hope this helps.
