More than 1 problem: Sorry about your pain. Sounds like there are at least 2 problems superimposing on each other. The buttock and hip pain could be from sciatica or a pinched nerve in your back. Severe knee swelling is not seen with these and likely due to an isolated problem that needs to be investigated and treated. You need an exam by a doctor, mri, +/- injections to get you out of pain.
