Ameobas: Although the media likes to take extreme cases out of context, N Fowleri infection is exceedingly rare. Think of the millions of people at this very moment who have had fresh water in their nose this summer without amoebas in the brain. Most likely you have a normal sinus infection which you do NOT need antibiotics for unless your symptoms persist for more than three weeks.
