A member asked:

I use an nasal spray 3-4 times for 5 days because i had stuffy nose caused by sinusitis. now it's like i have "ciggarette addiction"? how to stop this

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rebound congestion: Over the counter nasal decongestant sprays (Rhinocort Aq being an exception) can cause troubling rebound congestion and should only be used sparingly for a very short period of time. Recovery involves complete discontinuation of the spray, and waiting for the tissues of the nose to return to normal. Hopefully one of our ENT doctors will chime in if there are prescriptions available to help!
