MIGHT BE OK: Interestingly, the fifth metatarsal moves differently from the middle metatarsals. So, you may not have any residual problems. You may have a callus develop under the 4th metatarsal. Rx orthotic devices or shoes may help. I think little rehab is needed. You should still be able to hike, but use good footwear. Good luck! Dr. Latva
