Many options: There are many medications used to treat bipolar disorder and every person's response is different. Sometimes it takes trial and error to come up with the right mix of medications for a particular patient. Call your doctor and explain the situation so he/she can figure out what changes to make.

No one choice.: I agree with Dr. Arnoult. There is no one best medication. It is very important that you use good sleep hygiene. I often find that an option as simple as Melatonin works as well as many prescription sleep medications.

Insomnia might be due to several different reasons. First have a complete physical exam by a Dr. to rule out underlying biological problem. If no problem consult with a Clinical Psychologist for psychotherapy help, possible referral to a sleep study. If you are not confident with your Psychiatrist please see another for a second opinion.
