It is: certainly one possibility but the aspirate from the joint would be diagnostic. What was the result of the joint fluid analysis?

Pseudogout vs gout: Pseudogout is more common. Calcium pyrophosphate crystals form in joint. Mimics gout. Drainage helps. Fluid must be checked for infection too.
