A member asked:

Will an mri show chostochondritis ?i think i tore somthing in the chest . have had it now for 8 weeks .

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not likely: No. An MRI is generally not helpful. A Rx that works but is not often tried is to wear a rib belt to decrease pain by limiting chest expansion just enough to help the injury resolve quicker! Sometimes a direct injection at the most painful area with a steroid and a Caine will also hasten recovery.
