Look for Changes...: Look for changes in behavior. Children hit their heads often; most do very well after an accident. Crying in this case is good unless it is prolonged. Look for excessive sleepiness, vomiting, or change in mental status. If a bump (goose egg) is there and there is no bleeding, try a cold compress or sack of frozen peas. If vomiting does occur call your doctor or go directly to the er.
