Walking, limit drugs: Particularly if you had an abdominal hysterectomy, your GI tract could be in a " state of shock" which shuts down normal peristalsis. This is called an ileus. Without peristalsis, intestinal contents ferment, producing gas which can't move down and out. Percocet also slows peristalsis down. Regularly walking around and limiting use of Percocet will help with the gas. "This too shall pass."

Call your surgeon: Passing as and having good bowel function is very important after surgery, as the anesthesia itself can cause some bowel issues. Some surgeons will not let you leave without being able to have a BM or at the least pass gas. You do not want this to turn into a bowel issue that could lead to more serious complications. Best for you to call the surgeon and get treated as they know your case best.
