I have a tooth absess i have bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) will this antibiotic help?

Maybe, but see Dr.: A dental abscess is an infection and aside from pain could be potentially life threatening! Treating it yourself with extra antibiotics that may or not be effective against the bacterial infection is at best a bandaid. Tooth needs Rx: Dr Freedman is correct. Antibiotics may help limit spread of infection for as long as you take them, but infection will come roaring back once antibiotic stopped. See your dentist: Bactrim is a pretty potent antibiotic. Most dental infections are treated with less powerful antibiotics such as penicillin, clindamycin, Zithromax, or augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate). I would recommend seeing your dentist for one of these as bactrim is not a typical antibiotic of choice for tooth related infections. Hope this helps!
