YES!!!: Gallbladder function is affected by diet and lifestyle. Many herbs, acupuncture and homeopathy can enhance gallbladder function. Biliary dyskinesia: This is the term often given for patients with recurrent right upper quadrant pain with no stones/sludge and low ejection(emptying) fraction of the gallbladder on HIDA scanning. Unfortunately besides cholecystectomy(removal of the gallbladder), there is no reliable alternative treatment. Even with cholecystectomy many patient still have symptoms! I do wish you luck.
