Any way to find a doctor in my area that's educated on alpha 1 defency?

Liver or lung?: most good pulmonologists and hepatologists would certainly be well versed in what is admittedly a rare disease. If you're not finding it to be the case near where you are, i'd call the nearest academic medical center. If your issues are even more unique, they could also refer you to the most specialized centers across the country. best of luck.
