Yes: The standard treatment course for prostatitis is to give 4 weeks of fluoroquinolone antibiotic therapy (the cipro, (ciprofloxacin) in your case). Many physicians also prescribe an Alpha blocker as well to help alleviate any concomitant urinary symptoms during treatment.
