Although it could be: Normal aging, I would request a consult with a neurologist to rule out any neurological issues that are impacting on the speech and verbal areas of the brain.

I've omitting words from sentences when speaking, and sometimes (more often) mispronounce words because I get what feels like a spasm in my jaw and/tongue. Have the same type of mini-pause in my fingers when typing sometimes. Worse when I aggitated.
I'm mispronouncing common words and forgetting what I was going to say mid-sentence. When typing, Im skipping words in sentences and have to re-read multiple times to catch each missing word. Its like my brain is skipping or blanking on and off?
