Help with painless cold sores that won't heal on hard palate? 2-3 weeks.

First question is: are these cold sores (due to the herpes virus) or aphthous ulcers. I would see a derm or ENT to get a correct diagnosis which also would give the correct treatment as they are not treated the same! And you need a work up to find out why they are lasting this long. Have you been under a lot of stress?
