Etanercept: This is a subject of controversy in the medical literature, with different studies (of different quality) yielding different results. It is an off-label use of the medication, but how far off-label is in the eye of the beholder. The treatment may not work, but the government, and medical boards, give a certain amount of latitude to doctors to use medicines for off label use.
