I've got a 2.7cm gallstone. can it become a problem & will it get bigger?

It can...: A 2.7 cm gallstone can become larger over time. Gallstones have the potential of blocking the cystic duct. This is the duct which bile from the gallbladder passes through on its way to the bowel to aid in digestion. When this happens, one can have upper right abdominal pain after eating fatty meals. However, many people have gallstone present which remain asymptomatic.
