No. But your: doctor can get a good idea just on your symptoms alone. An ultrasound test is usually necessary to confirm presence of gallstones.

Gallstone.: A family doctor should very well be able to suspect a gallstone or gallbladder problem through a good history-taking and physical examination. Goal-directed testing can then be enacted to confirm/deny.
