A member asked:

I had peroneal tendon surgery a month ago. it is hard to walk without crutches. does my ankle have to relearn normal movement ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No but you may not: have normal gait or walking until fully healed. Depending on the type of surgery and why you had it also plays some role as the peroneal tendon plays some role it stabilizing the outside or lateral part of the ankle if the longus tendon. Speak to your surgeon concerning any of your questions.
