Yes but less likely: if you have extensive diverticulosis this can be a problem to advance the camera through certain areas. If you have had diverticulitis before you may develop narrowings in the colon. When the colonoscopy is incomplete it is not possible to completely rule out cancer, and therefore an image test is recommended (such as barium enema, virtual CT colonoscopy, etc)
