Complicated: It doesn't, but it may make you feel better. There is no "cure" for POTS but many medicines are used to help people feel better...and that's what counts. Isn't it?

Binding receptors: Do you mean how does it increase heart rate? The mechanism of action is quite complicated but in simple term, it binds to the beta adrenergic receptors on the heart leading to changes in calcium level and increases in the firing rate of the pacemaker cells.

What is the difference between norepinephrine and epinephrine?

2 doctor answers2 doctors weighed in
Dr. Susan Wingo

1 extra carbon atom: Epinephrine has 1 more carbon & 2 more hydrogen atoms then norepinephrine. This small difference makes the molecules look different, so they interact differently with receptors, and have different effects. One example: norEpinephrine narrows blood vessels, increasing blood pressure; Epinephrine can narrow some arteries while dilating others, and can raise or lower blood pressure.

Definitely: Clonazepam is a long-acting medication, and causes significant sedation and cognitive slowing. Depending on what it is being used for, there may be alternative treatments that would not carry these side effects.

Yes: Yes, there is always the possibility of coming of the medication. It all depends how severe are your panic attacks. Beside medication you should be having cognitive behavioral therapy (cbt) to learn coping skills to help deal with your panic attaks.
